The official Google Webmaster Central blog tells us that mobile-friendliness it going to be a ranking signal, very soon!
According to Google:
Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices.
Have you checked if your site is mobile friendly?
You can easily check and see if Google considers your site mobile friendly. Use this Google tool to check .
You can also run a check with the W3C Mobile OK validator. This is a different test and will check a lot more things that the Google check does. If your sites passes the Google Mobile Friendly test, it might fail the W3C Mobile OK validation.
